Location: Soil test results for proposed dog park on Trades Lane in Fairfield Hills are due in January 15, 2010.  REGGIANO to follow up with town and report back to the committee.. If this site proves unsuitable, Plan B is to ask FFHA to consider other locations within the 186 acres there, and Plan C will be to consider other places in town.

Website. Website has been established (http://www.NewtownParkandBark.org). Email is newtownparkandbark@gmail.com. Website will be designed and built when logo artwork from KIM JAECKEL is completed in February.  REGGIANO will connect PRC website to Park and Bark website. New site will include FAQs, Mission Statement, budget, timeline, milestones, events, volunteer news, and testimonials.  A Facebook Page has been created as well.  Committee should send pictures (dogs and area parks) and news items in for posting.

Surveys: Committee members will research CT dog parks and conduct interviews with park planners by region, as outlined in meeting. The goal is to learn how other communities designed and funded their dog parks, what it cost to maintain them annually, and overall best practices. These findings will help subcommittee create budget, development plan and timeline for our park. Timeline for research is 30-45 days from January 5th meeting. Area parks were assigned to four volunteers and 20 questions were provided.

Donation Process. Donation Receipt Form has been approved by Town Finance Director and has been  uploaded to website.

2010 Fundraisers: on hold until park research is complete. REGGIANO will consult Town Finance Director on a 501c3 status to accommodate tax deductible donations and grant applications.
